The Consulting & Advisory Practicum (CAP) is a selective Beta Alpha Psi sub-group launched in fall 2024 that pairs talented BAP students with real-world community challenges. Limited to 20 or fewer members, CAP takes on long-term projects requiring skills-based volunteerism to improve financial or operational processes for Auburn-area organizations. This hands-on consulting experience develops critical advisory skills while delivering meaningful impact to the local community.

CAP Meeting Sponsorship Benefits

CAP mentor sponsors commit to providing:

  • Professional mentorship: One consulting or advisory professional to attend and guide students during one of five working sessions each semester

  • Real-world expertise: Opportunity to share practical insights, problem-solving frameworks, and industry perspective as students tackle live client challenges

  • Direct student engagement: Extended interaction with CAP’s most motivated and analytically skilled members in a collaborative working environment

  • Working dinner sponsorship: $300 sponsorship covers dinner during the mentor session, facilitating relaxed conversation and relationship-building

  • Pipeline development: Early access to students who are developing advanced consulting and advisory capabilities beyond traditional accounting coursework

CAP sponsorship offers a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of advisory professionals while supporting meaningful community service. Your mentor will help students navigate complex problem-solving in real time, building both their technical skills and professional confidence.
