Requirements & Expectations

Candidates for membership are required to attend all BAP professional/member’s choice meetings, the candidate orientation meeting, Meet the Firms, complete three “reaching out activities” (including one chapter social), and participate in six hours of BAP service activities in their first semester.  Candidates must set up a recruiting profile on Handshake and upload a professional resume.

Members must attend Meet the Firms, participate in at least four hours of BAP service activities each semester, complete three “reaching out activities” (including one chapter social), and attend the majority of BAP professional meetings.

Beta Alpha Psi is a professional organization, and as such, it has professional expectations of its members.  All candidates and members are expected to behave in such a way that brings honor to themselves, our chapter, and our University. Beta Alpha Psi has specific policies for conduct and dress. Please refer to this page for more specific information.

Job Search Tools & Requirements

  • Handshake – Handshake is Auburn University’s online recruiting system. It is the primary tool used by employers to arrange internship and job interviews with students. All Beta Alpha Psi candidates and members are required to maintain a recruiting profile on Handshake. Once you create an account you may upload your resume and browse job listings.
  • Resume Tutorial & Template – The accounting field requires a very specific, standardized resume. Candidates and members should use this template as a guide.
  • Office of Professional & Career Development – The OPCD is a resource available to all College of Business students funded largely by the HCOB professional fee. Career counselors are on hand to help you with your resume, job search, and interview skills. Visit the OPCD website or drop by 101 Lowder Hall to get started.
